I had the pleasure of interviewing professional Actor, from Stockton California the great Daniel Franco. This is the second part of our fabulous interview, enjoy!
Why do you think so many aspiring actors end up giving up on their dream?
A. I think a big part of it is that no one realizes how hard and how much work it is to be a great actor. The best thing I have been told since I have been here is this. “If there is something else that you would rather do or would be happy doing go and do it. If this is what you truly want and would not be happy doing anything else you are cursed. It is great you found the thing that you want to do more then anything but it is not easy.” Another part people give up because of would be rejection. Mark Ruffalo was rejected 600 times before he got a role. I don’t think people these days can handle that much rejection without quitting. It’s an interesting dichotomy you have to play with. You have to be resilient and not take rejections personally but when filming you have to take everything personally.
Q. What are something’s actors do to maintain relax in an audition?
A. Everyone has his or her own thing so it’s different from person to person. For me whenever I go into an audition I tell my self three things. 1st You don’t have the job so don’t worry if you don’t get it, you cant lose something you don’t have. 2nd Don’t try to act what you think they want to see; they don’t even know what they want to see. Just be you in the given circumstance. 3rd Take a deep breath and relax, be calm but not casual.
Q. What are you auditioning for next? A. I am always running around
auditioning for everything I think I would like to work on. Most recently I am auditioning for the play Welcome Home Soldier it has been going on for over 25 years. I am also in a feature film called birds without feathers not sure when we should be finished wrapping that one as we are only about 1/3rd of the way done. I am also hoping to get a chance to audition for the Sons Of Anarchy spin off following the Mayan biker gang. Fingers and Toes crossed.
Q. Where do you see yourself in a few years?
A. That’s a hard one to answer I haven’t put much thought into it. I am so focused on living in the present that it never comes up. I would obviously love to be an established and working actor but I don’t worry about it. What ever happens happens, right now I am like a paper in the wind, I don’t know where I might end up but I am enjoying the ride.
It’s always fun to ask this question; if not an actor, what line of work do you think you would be in?
A. I think if it wasn’t for my love of acting constantly pulling me I would have probably stayed in the military and did 20 years. It at one point was a possibility but I just couldn’t suppress this feeling inside me that needed to be out here doing what I love acting.
Thank you for your time Daniel. Any final message to the fans?

Have a great day!
I want to be a man who is truthful and who won’t let pride get in the way of my ripping myself open to my partner and saying, ‘Here I am. This is me.’ I feel there’s something powerful when a man reaches a point in his life when he can be completely vulnerable.
